The album "Extracompact" from the group NOM-Zhir was recently released. The disk is composed of remakes of old songs of the "Informal Youth Union" (NOM), which owed its existence to Andrei Kagadeev (bass-guitar, vocal), Ivan Turist (vocals), Nikolai Gusev (keyboards) and Alexander Liver (bass-vocal). Screams, declamations, stretching singing capabilities and the arrangement beyond all limits, is what "Extracompact" is based on. It managed to combine, in this way, all the musical and literary ambitions of NOM-Zhir.
Fans of the Informal Youth Union will be interested to hear the previously unreleased reggae tracks, specially recorded for the "In the Name of Reason" concert tour.
NOM-Zhir is one of the two groups emerging as a result of NOM's breakup in 1998. Its leaders are Andrei Kagadeev and Ivan Turist, who now work with former NOM keyboardist Alexander Liver, currently living in Geneva, and former AVIA leader Nikolai Gusev.
