After a few days of Grand Jury testimony, including that of rapper Sean "Puffy" Combs, the Manhattan District Attorney's office opted to indict rapper Shyne (real name Jamal Barrow) for attempted murder in the second degree, among other charges, on Wednesday (Jan. 5). The charges stem from a Dec. 27 shooting at Club New York in Manhattan which injured three people. Shyne, a rapper on Puff Daddy's Bad Boy Entertainment, was arrested at the scene. Puff Daddy, Jennifer Lopez, and members of their entourage were arrested after being pulled over for running a red light while fleeing the scene. Puff Daddy, who has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degrees, is due back in court on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. Lopez was released without being charged. Shyne faces up to 25 years in prison on the second degree attempted murder and first degree assault charges alone. The rapper's next scheduled court date is April 3.
