Carlos SANTANA  Santana dominate the Grammy's

Santana have been nominated in no less than 10 categories in the USA's prestigious (and 42nd) Grammy awards set to take place on 23rd February at the Staples Centre Arena in Los Angeles. Their nominations are centred around their number one and five-times-platinum 'comeback' album', 'Supernatural', now in it's twenty seventh week in America's top ten and it's spin-off number one single, 'Smooth', which features Matchbox 20's Rob Thomas, still at the top after twenty three weeks in the singles chart. 'Supernatural' is up for 'Album of the Year' and 'Smooth' is nominated as 'Record of the Year'. Strong competition comes from the Backstreet Boys whose 'Millennium' album, now with sales topping a staggering 11 million after seven months in the top ten. Other contenders for the year's album prize are TLC with 'Fanmail', Dixie Chicks' 'Fly' and Diana Krall's 'When I Look in Your Eyes'. Last year's big breakthroughs, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin are also featured heavily in the nominations for Grammy's which encompasses nearly a hundred categories spanning all forms of music and video.
